Thread: Pier fishing

I remember years and years ago being able to snag mullet at night under the pier. Do people still do this? Is it practical if still legal? Do people have success at this?

Yes, they still do.
Yes, it is legal.
Practical? In my opinion only if you don't have a castnet and some time to kill on the beach, or a dock/pier where castnets are allowed.
Snagging is an acquired skill, if you're good at it you can put fish in the cooler and have fun doing it.
People intentionally snag a variety of species besides just mullet.

They were snagging a few when I was down there in June....
