I'll bring a Desert of some sorts and some Drinks.
I will bring some drinks (Cokes, Mt.Dew, and Dr. Pepper.)
I will bring hot dogs.
I'll bring pickled fish. Done like hearing in wine sauce...
one of these days we are going to make the trip down for this. is it the same time every year?
I'll make a pot of fish chowder---and maybe a venison taco pie.
Sure wish I could be there but had already made plans to fish the Thompson Tractor Bass Tournament on Lake Mitchell. Hope everyone has wonderful time and weather is beautiful.
My,son, nephew, and I will be there Thursday morning fishing,I will bring some Elk sausage and make sausage balls for Saturday.
Can't be there this year, guys. Trying to get my house on the market to sell so we can move to our new home in Cabot, AR. When your wife's nest is torn up, fishing is just impossible. Just a simple request....would somebody post a few more pictures, please? Reports are great, but for those of us who aren't able to be around and have to fish vicariously through all you guys....well....the pictures mean a lot. I know it takes a little time, but it is sure greatly appreciated.
Well, my work plans changed last minute and I will now be off on Saturday so count me in now! Don't know what I am going to bring yet, but I will have something whipped up.
Uh, its tomorrow? What the lastest, time and needs, I am going to try and bring Dusty, and Jake may be off work as well.
I will bring coleslaw.
Who's going to bring the barbequed chicken and sausage? How about the baked beans and potato salad? How about some peach cobbler, chocolate cake and apple pie? C'mon folks, lets blow the soot out of the smokestack.
I wish you all dry and fishable conditions.
Unfortunately I'm 850 miles away in Illinois visiting family, or I'd commit to a huge pot of spicy chicken/sausage Jambalaya and plates/cutlery.
Sorry to be missing this, it has always been fun and delicious.
Sorry I can't fire up the smoker this year George. I have to volunteer at the Buffet concert tonight, help set up for the high school band banquet in the morning and deal with a couple thousand customers coming through the store tomorrow because of the concert and mullet toss being the same weekend. And if it rains tomorrow, the number of people in the store will be way more than that. It will be a major cluster of a good kind.
It may turn out to be a loaves and fishes picnic.
John G has carried more than his share of the picnic for years and its time for the rest of us to suit up and show up.
I asked Fin a while back to post someone's address so those of us so grateful for this forum and all the folks who are there to educate us pier fishing illiterates but live too far away to make the picnic could send something to defray the costs involved. He thought things were pretty well covered at the time. Things are looking a little meager. Haywire, if you will send me a PM with address I will send a check for $50.00 to you tomorrow and challenge others in the same condition to help out as they are led. Use it to buy plates, cups and the such....OR...go to Hooters and buy a bunch of wings. I called. Unfortunately they won't send a couple girls to deliver to the pier. Something about some gnarley old Aqualung looking man with a mouse in his pocket....
David Allison started a post on Facebook and there are people bringing plates, utensils, paper towels, drinks, potato salad, chips, and desert. As far as I know there is no real meat yet. I would probably have contributed to that in some way but I originally was supposed to work and then managed to get off last minute. So I had to settle for making coleslaw, something quick and easy.
I really hope the weather man is wrong as usual and no rain shows up for this years picnic. Speaking of the picnic, does anyone know the time? I can't seem to remember from year to year, (I'm over 50 and can hardly remember what I had for lunch yesterday). I assume it is noon but don't know for sure.
Noon is when I plan to get there with my hot food, Todd.
Picnic time plus 7 hours. I hope someone took some pics to post?!?!
We had a great picnic! Nice turn out, good food with wonderful people. Thanks everyone.
I posted some pics to my FB page... I don't know how to post them here. Maybe one of you tech savvy folks can post them here for me.
