About 18" should do you well Also here s a tip Take some super glue or gorilla glue and glue your bubble together Do this and you'll not have to worry about your bubble coming apart in the heat of catching fish

Even easier is "ShoeGoo" to seal your bubble. A strip around the middle cushions impact when your bubble hits a piling or the deck. A three inch piece of tube is about an inch longer than I like to use---just hope there are some fish for us to chunk the bubbles at by then.

That Shoe Goo works good, you can even assault some poor old man with the bubble and it won't break.

What can I say? I have no judgement. If I did, I'd have assaulted a rich old man and taken his valuables while he was stunned

Fill the bubble with clear silicone. I don't know if that works, but I'm still an expert.

The longer you make the rig, the better your chance of accidently snagging a sightseer.

Tuck's Xtreme Bubble Rig
I add 6" of 29# single strand wire on the end of my rig. I also add a Norman's Speed Clip on the end of the wire to allow me to remove the hook and change colors or replace a shredded straw. The wire will last 10 times longer than just heavy mono. Swivel to swivel - 6" to 8". Swivel to hook - 24" to 30". (I adjust length and color until I figure out what produces best.) Try it!!!!
