No firearms, bows, crossbows, etc., are allowed. Bowfishing for remoras and rays would be a blast, but the powers that be have decreed otherwise. Probably can't use harpoons, either. Thar she blows!

[/quote]Wrong, firearms are allowed, that is to say Handguns are allowed.
Park Regulations explicitly allow for Concealed Carry Permit holders to carry their sidearm, both in the parks and on the pier.
No need to say however, that using it to dispatch Remoras and other denizens of the deep, would be very illegal and unwise :spank:
Technically legal Open Carry is allowed too, but Open Carry is a contentious issue with many LEOs and Conservation Officers.Quote:
8. Prohibited Devices (220-5-.08)
(1) It shall be unlawful for any person other than a duly authorized law enforcement
officer to possess or carry into any State Park any form of firearm without written
permission of the manager or custodian in charge of the State Park visited;
provided, however, nothing in this regulation prohibits the possession of
handguns by lawfully licensed persons for personal protection, provided the
handguns are not used for any unlawful purpose. No person shall possess,
discharge or set off on or within a State park any firecrackers, torpedoes, rockets,
cap pistols, or other fireworks.
There is much misinterpretation/misinformation of Open Carry.
I've received three opinions from two Conservation officers and a LEO.
One said Open Carry is expressly forbidden, and that your sidearm may at no time become unconcealed... He is wrong and either lying his arse off, just plain ignorant or thinks only LEOs should carry firearms.
The other two acknowledged Open Carry as legal but asking for trouble, and one even said he'd coerce the Open Carry into Concealing it.

I like the way you think! ;)
IF we have this "REMOR-DEO" the grand prize should be something like a case of cigar minnows :headbang:
:yippee:
pistols not necessary... a 3ounce pyramid sinker can move pretty fast... the ole sucker heads sure do make good target practice
There is something refreshing with putting a knife straight through their head. So it's worth the work to get them on deck to take out some anger management issues. Wow should I seek professional help? Maybe Sammy could help me with a few...hundred.
Hmmm, if it's not too late I'd like to suggest some categories to "spread the wealth"
1. Most (of course) maybe give 1st thru 5th place ;-)
2. Biggest cut the gene pool down :violent We could make that Longest and Heaviest
3. Smallest git em BEFORE they breed ;)
Maybe offer a tag team award for group efforts :horse: :3some:
Special awards for recipies! :eat: :D
:puke:
I personally don't condone the thoughtless killing and waisting of any species no matter whether it is a nuisance or not. Doing such makes us no better than the gill netters that we so badly want removed from our waters. The shamless killing of any species no matter how abundant is dispacable in my book.
