That's one rod in use. You are allowed to bring six on. More than six is $3.50 per rod.
Well the rules on the pier say 1 rod in use with 6 rods max. total i bring 8 and leave 2 for backup at the condo.
I always bring a cheaper 30 size spinner combo with a sabiki attached for the tourist kids that look interested, and mom or dad didn't bring a rod(or dont know how to fish). It's always great seeing a kid smile when he reels up a rig full of LYs or the occasional keychain.
100+++++++ for Mr. Cleland and the kids! That's the way to make a good memory for the kid that can last a lifetime.
I have to agree that it is great helping the youngsters put a fish on the deck. This is this youngster's first fish ever and I helped because the drag was shot on her rental rod and the guy with her didn't know what to do.
Making memories for sure; I remember it like it was yesterday!

Fin---Why in the world aren't you smiling?
I thought I was smiling!
more like a sheepish grin to me. :)
Your expression is the same as mine probably would be---somewhat stunned that a pretty young lady in a swimsuit would even think about putting her arm around me.
Now back in the day----------
Mr. Cleland, it is fun letting a kid reel in a sabiki full of ly's. I keep one rigged up on an ultra light rod so its easier for them to use. it is fun seeing their faces when they pull up 3 or 4 at a time
