Interesting to note that they are found in the western Pacific and are heavily farmed there, but are not normally found in the eastern pacific. Guess that is about to change!

They landed the first cobia off PCB county pier this morning, maybe he was
one of them! Either way they are coming!

As I understand it, all the cobia except those around the local pier are idiots which can be caught at will by almost anyone fishing at any time. Too bad we have the Ph.Ds of the cobia world who look over baits first and bite later.
These would be the same federal fisheries managers who believe red snapper are too rare to be trusted to anyone except the wise commercial fishermen who would never over fish their livelihood.
