With the limit on Spanish mackerel being 15, and I see so many fish going into the coolers 4 or 5 at a time for a few hours, is there any enforcement of the legal limit? Either I'm really bad at math or I'm missing something :confused:!! Seems like a shame in a way.
I am in agreement ; that perhaps if the offenders were fined for exceedng the lmit ,it just might make it less profitable to abuse our natural resources .I have always been under the impresson that the pier was to be used for sport fishing .
They arent Americans so I guess our rules dont apply
Those folks aren't stupid---that's why they bring the wives and babies, so they can catch their limits, too. I called the pier office about it and they said the catchers have it figured out and spread the fish out among a bunch of coolers if indeterminate ownership. They said that Warden Randy was going to come out and check, but I never saw him---of course he may have never made it to the octi where I stayed.
How ever I feel about it, I know those fish don't go to waste once they are caught. Now, if we can shift our attention to the cleaning stations---------
That is why they bring moms, dads, grandma and grandpa, aunts, uncles, children and the neighbors children. The only way to get them for being over the limit is to sit there and make a tally sheet for each one that is actually fishing. They are using the safety-in-numbers loophole.Quote:

There was a clearly American fisherman doing the exact same thing on the octi on Saturday. Exact quote: "There's 3 of us, I'm filling the cooler."
I am glad when they caught me they didn't put me in the cooler....
It could be that the brigadiers you are referring to hold commercial hook and line licenses and abide by a different set of limits. From what I hear by word of mouth, that utilizing a commercial license for economic gain from the pier is a no-no. I have looked and haven't found any ruling one way or the other about this. I can see and agree with either allowing coms to operate from the pier or not, but that is whole different issue.Quote:

You can do a few things about it. You could tell them what the limits are and tell them to abide by the rules to prevent you from reporting them. So mom, dad, grandma etc. all have fishing licenses? Or do they just pay to get on the pier and not buy a license to fish? Seems checking to make sure they all have a license might cut down on it? Maybe?
look on their wrist you dont see them wearing those colored bracelets ,,,people like that whether asian or white abuse the sysem and rape our economic system and to me that dont make them american ,,,but enough said
