Saltwater fishing registry license expired 31aug2014 for everyone
People under the age of 16 or 65 years of age or older that are residents of the state of Alabama do not need a fishing license. They are however required to have a "Saltwater Angler Registry" license and they all expire every year on August 31st. There is no charge for this license but it is a little difficult to find the web site online to obtain and print.
www.alabamainteractive.org/dcnr
will get you to the web site. At the bottom of that page you will see a section where you can fill in your birth month, date, and year and then click on continue and work thru the following pages then you can print your license at the end of the process.
I have never had mine checked and from discussion's I have had with some other "old farts" many of them did not even know they were supposed to get one.
Hopefully this bit of information will be helpful to some of you "old farts" as well as the "young whipper snappers" who are our fishing generations of the future and do not yet need to buy a license. Good Luck and Good Fishing to All.........
