june 15 thru 22
I will be down on these dates, I will be fishing the beach at the Escapes, the Pier and wherever else yall can point me to thats legal. I would like to catch some flounder, what would be the best technique, and set up for this, I am a big freshwater fisherman, just haven't got all of this salt stuff down pat. What other fish can I expect to catch on average.

Re: june 15 thru 22
? It looks like "The Escapes" is in Romar Beach.
You're not likely to catch many flounder there.
Maybe a few at the pier or Perdido Pass, more likely @ Little Lagoon Pass or maybe Ft Morgan pier or ferry landing.
Live bull minnows (or finger mullet) drug on the bottom would be your best technique.
But you can catch them on grubs too.
I like the 3" New Penny colored Gulp Shrimp on a 1/4 ounce jig head.
But a 1/2 ounce jig with a strip of FRESH cut bait is an 'old school' trick that still works well in pinch ;-)
Hope this helps!(RETIRED) mostly.

I move your post to get you more exposure to comments, and welcome aboard.
Here are some possibilities in no particular order for your June trip:
Bluefish, White Trout, Speckled Trout, Whiting/Ground Mullet. Flounder, Redfish, King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Cobia and Pompano
Most can be caught from the pier or the shore at times

This Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for an abundant fishery and a magnificent pier, from which to access that fishery. I'm thankful for the morning view of the sunrise and what a spectacular view it is...
Happy Thanksgiving!
