Retie often. Even if you don't feel a strike. Gotcha's ain't cheap. Went through 4 real quick. 7 spearheads and 3 speck rigs all in one afternoon.
This never gets old

My second childbirth. MUCH, MUCH smaller than the first back in 2014. Didn't need a C-section to have this one! Many thanks to the good ER folks at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley. If anyone knows Lacy, tell her I'm grateful.
Near heart failure watching this thing come up on a shrimp!
Spanish don't bite at night either
Save a few for the tourists!

Watched you and David LEA and figured out how to wiggle my worm and make em' bite that dang jig! Standing on the rail by Max and Pier#'r a couple of days helped a lot. Vacuum packed about 20lbs of Spanish and another 15lbs of speck, red, sheepshead, pompano and flounder. Plus ate a few while I was there. Fish tacos and Ted's recipe mackerel dip in the near future. I gave Igor my king and some Spanish to him and a few others or I'd have to sit on the freezer lid to keep it closed!

Thank you for sharing those great pictures! I haven't been down since November and unfortunately it may be a couple more months before I get there again.....way to long. I look forward to reports and/or pictures so much, it really brightens my day. We are closing on a "downsizing" house Tuesday. Then the painting, flooring and moving will commence. I hope to get my current house on the market by the last of June. If all goes as planned this will lead to more free time to spend with family, fish and enjoy life a little more.
Good precautions, Back when I ran the Angler Academy I got into trouble with overheating one day. Went to the pierhouse and sat in a chair inside the tackle shop (in the AC). A good preventative...
Remember your sunscreen! And more!
