I found 30 foot extension poles, but not for unhooking fish. Something else -- I didn't see anything in the rules forbidding the use of treble hooks. You'd think that trebles would be banned during these events if release-poles are required. I'm not digging the release-pole thing.

I swear by my aunt's mustache that I will MAKE a release pole. Even if I don't get a permit, I will make it available toa qualified angler.

What sort of contraption would this look like??? I'm curious

My king gaffs are no good for sharks....suggest the weighted barbed hooked gaff's be used...the skin is so tuff gaffs bounce off....unless you get a gill shot, 2 to 3 needed to bring up a 6fter

Dang we break them off all the time, release pole is a joke

Just duct tape a dehooking tool to the end of the pole and you're good to go.

My work schedule isnt going to make it possible for me, not even to watch. Come on July 17 draw, that would make a fine birthday gift(if there is one)

I got 5ft sections of military fiberglass screw together section that would work, or eletrical snap together fiberglass poles for disconnect on electric poles.....but to far away.....just break them off like we always do

A clip on weight tied to rope (so you don't loose it) down the fishing line to knock the hook out, or break it off

I agree, don't matter if it's like tits on a boar, we'll break 'em off anyway.

EDIT: Sorry to repeat myself, but a tail rope is what we need.

why not use the sections of fiberglass that screw together for a chimney/smoke pipe cleaning rod? I bet it's a lot cheaper than 150$

6ft black tip 100lbs....tail rope is one person (not me) multiple gaffs is putting more then one person hoisting dividing the weight up 2-50lbs each....3....33lbs each plus or minus....

The barbed hook weighted gaffs are the best for penetrating the skin

10ft sections of allthread coupled together for desird length needed all canbe purchased at lowes or home depot electrical dept for the all thread and threaded couplers where the bolts are... suggest 3/8in
