Thread: Sharkfest¿

Been waiting all year to fish the pier June 3 for a week and now rumors of shark Armageddon!I can picture the pier full of guys with small hand crank cranes fighting sharks and making regular fishing impossible. I can't change dates so I might have some brand new rigs for sale!!😂I'll watch for dates and you regulars keep on catching those kings !

It would seem the 4/0 or smaller rule should still be in effect...

Murphy's Law being what it is, there will be a huge mackerel bite that week to conflict with the shark fest---however, it will provide bait and live chum for the sharkers. This is my firm prediction, and I have never made a mistake, although errors will sneak in there occasionally.

Y'all should be happy to have those meat eaters cleared out so at least you can reel in some gamefish without reprocutions.

For the sharks most often hooked off the pier big rods and reels wont be needed, i've fought plenty back to break off on my penn fierce 2 6000 combo with 20lb mono, and back when i was a super googan fishing with a heavy rod and 65lb braid i brought what we estimated as a 7-8ft bull shark to the pier, unless your after a monster trophy the huge shark rigs arent needed, though it might be interesting to see someone try and haul a 12ft tiger or hammerhead over the rail, from a distance of course

Guess I worded my original post wrong ,I wasn't bothered by shark fishing but the influx of anglers it will bring.Hell,I would like to catch one myself ,heaven knows how many bubble rigs and Spanish they borrowed from me last September! Thought they named gotcha lures from the last thoughts of the sharks that grabbed them !! Can't wait to meet some of you guys in June.
