It's allways tough at this time of year. Fish are on and only eat live shrimp, and it's the slowest time for the shrimpers to cat live bait. So the resalt is usually the same, high demand and low supply. There seems to be plenty available right now tbough.

Like that every late winter/early spring. Just some days they have more shrimp than others.
Demand is incredibly high this time of year and dealers scramble all the time to get live shrimp supplied.
@ 6:30 am yesterday while I stopped @ Capt Frazier's, he got a phonecall inquiring about live shrimp availablility.
He told them "We got 1500 in last night, so there's no guarantee we won't run out before lunchtime."
So what is the best way to keep them alive and what quantity is the best bet?
Bucket with a battery powered bubbler. Don't overcrowd it, 3-4 dzn max.
To keep shrimp alive overnight I use the age old rule of one gallon of water per dozen on a 2 tube 110 volt aquarium pump with the prescribed amount of baitsaver or other product that removes ammonia from the water.
That gets more critical as the temperatures rise as water can't hold near as much oxygen when hot (above 80 degrees).
