A sincere "Thanks"...
I, like many others, don't get over there nearly as much as I used to, maybe half a dozen times a year. Still miss night fishing up shallow on the old pier, loved the way the lower lights drew bait up close... really pretty speck and flounder water... Anyway, got to spend 3 nights last week down on Fishouse Rd... stopped by J&M Thursday and Friday for pj's + fishbites, went again Saturday and bought my first new rod in 30 years... Retired Troutslayer (yeah, I name my rods...),named the new one "Pescatore", after the place we stayed... a Contour 7 footer, much better casting distance than my old 6 footer... John took the time to help me with my rod choice and I really appreciate that... he and his staff are always friendly, helpful and courteous, doesn't matter if you're buying a $3 jig, a $300 reel (or a $36 rod) - thank you John. got the chance to try it before we left - needless to say, "happy, happy,happy..." I'll certainly see yall again next trip. meantime, tight lines to all, and keep yer tip up !!!

So, obviously I’ve posted that I’ve been away for about 12 or 13 years and am coming down on the 26th to rejoin the community. I’m amazed at how much pier knowledge I lost over the years and so a few...
Various knots and buried knowledge...
