No sleeves needed. Use the Haywire Twist

Yep, no sleeves.
Learn to do the twist!
BTW, its a lot easier with smaller wire we used for kings & Spanish.
Just a couple of observations that are not always obvious to beginners.
1. Both sides of the wire should bend. It's not as secure if you bend one side around the other leaving one side straight, matter of fact it's not a true "haywire twist" unless you bend both sides of the wire.
2. The tightness (length) of the twists is determined by the distance from the pinch point of your fingers to the point where the two wires cross. Shorter twists stress the wire more, although usually not enough to matter a lot unless the wire gets really stressed fighting a fish.
3. If you don't make the barrel rolls and break the wire to finish the twist it leaves a really nasty sharp end. If you have trouble making the crank to break it off at the end (lots of people do) then just bend it back and forth until it breaks.
Why I never thought about that 😀 is beyond me , thanks again!
Can't wait to come back , more fun than barrel of monkeys
How many twist yall usually do ?
Don't know, just 'til it feels right, maybe 5 or 6??
6 'ish Twists and 6 'ish Barrel Wraps, or as CarlF said; "till it feels right"
