Sheepshead
I'm coming down to the pier this weekend and I heard sheepshead were biting. I was wondering what type of bait I should use for them, and where people have been catching them. Are they on the piling a or what? :fishing:

Re: Sheepshead
They will be around the pilings. Use a small strong hook and as little weight as you can get by with and still control the bait.
For bait, depending on the feeding mood, in order of preference: live shrimp, ghost shrimp, fiddler crabs, hermit crabs and FRESH dead shrimp will work. And by fresh I mean never been frozen.

Re: Sheepshead
None at pier yesterday, but they were thick at the pass
Give a googan a king, and he can eat for a day. But teach a googan how to kingfish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years

This Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for an abundant fishery and a magnificent pier, from which to access that fishery. I'm thankful for the morning view of the sunrise and what a spectacular view it is...
Happy Thanksgiving!
