    Cool Solar Eclipse!!

Wouldn't it be fun to "night fish" during the eclipse?

My Bite prediction is, Afternoon bite + confusion + morning bite = Full coolers.

Considering lower Alabama (Mobile/Baldwin counties) were not in the path of totality and we didn't experience total darkness (no really noticeable change in lighting around here unless clouds blocked the sunlight), there probably wasn't a difference in the bite today and the past few days

From my perspective the eclipse did not disappoint, but then -- I had very limited expectations. It got a little darker and then it got lighter.

I imagine that fish in the Gulf were similarly unimpressed.

We were in totality and yes it was awesome. I thought my pics of the black circle would show up in pics, so I could share, but they didn't. Glad I got to see it.

Here it is at the peak. It's from a cell phone but in real life it was impressive.

Unfortunately I didn't get to see how it impacted the bite.

We were up on the river at ground zero. Pictures and videos don't do it justice. I caught 2 nice channel cat, 1 dink and lost another keeper. I was done fishing by eclipse time but don't think the fish cared much. I can tell you one thing for sure....It was HOT.

We had 95% here in North Alabama. The sky did darken somewhat but we couldn't see stars. The temperature did drop about 5 degrees for a while, then it got hot as a brush fire.
