Wouldn't it be fun to "night fish" during the eclipse?
My Bite prediction is, Afternoon bite + confusion + morning bite = Full coolers.
Considering lower Alabama (Mobile/Baldwin counties) were not in the path of totality and we didn't experience total darkness (no really noticeable change in lighting around here unless clouds blocked the sunlight), there probably wasn't a difference in the bite today and the past few days
From my perspective the eclipse did not disappoint, but then -- I had very limited expectations. It got a little darker and then it got lighter.
I imagine that fish in the Gulf were similarly unimpressed.
We were in totality and yes it was awesome. I thought my pics of the black circle would show up in pics, so I could share, but they didn't. Glad I got to see it.

Here it is at the peak. It's from a cell phone but in real life it was impressive.
Unfortunately I didn't get to see how it impacted the bite.
We were up on the river at ground zero. Pictures and videos don't do it justice. I caught 2 nice channel cat, 1 dink and lost another keeper. I was done fishing by eclipse time but don't think the fish cared much. I can tell you one thing for sure....It was HOT.
We had 95% here in North Alabama. The sky did darken somewhat but we couldn't see stars. The temperature did drop about 5 degrees for a while, then it got hot as a brush fire.
It did here too (even at the beach).
This graph is from Perdido Pass (note the 5 degree 'dip' between 12 and 2 pm...

It wasn't too impressive in the Wetumpka/Montgomery area. All I enjoyed was my skin stopped cooking for about 30 minutes
it sure is hot. i wish the moon would get in the way more often.
I was in w Knoxville Tn when it peaked and they didn't have a complete total but just a few miles south they did, unfortunately I had to go there right after it and got stuck in traffic and it took me almost 3 hrs to go 1.4 miles, had to divert to another route to get home due to grid lock on 40E ,left that call at 4:38 got home at 9:06. The capacitor on my AC condenser went out Saturday nite and pu 1 yesterday, put it on when I got home ,glad I get paid up to 35 minutes before I get home or I would be upset
Oh and it was pretty neat, street lites turned on and the nite bugs went to singing ,was pretty neat for less than 2 minutes
It was a good excuse for my wife son and I to go to Little Rock and eat at a good restaurant- about 90% coverage where we wer- temp fell 8 degrees
