I am not very new to surf fishing I've been doing it for some time. I would also like to try the pier when I'm down there. What is a good spinning reel for the beach that will last me some time, handle just about anything down there, and won't run me out of the bank?
Drew I hope that the Penn battle 5k I just picked up today will last for years and if it doesn't it will be my fault. But I think it well handle almost anything that I will target. It's the combo don't think for the price you well go wrong
Penn spin fisher v series are absolute beasts. Battles are great as well and I've heard good things about the penn conflict. Just depends on what you want to spend
A good combo thats lasted me for over a year now without any problems & just around a $100 is the Penn Fierce 5000 or 6000 on a Big Water Ugly Stik, 7 foot or 9 I have both. I love them especially for the quality you get for the price
Many discussions in the archives -search function is your friend. Personally, I currently use a Penn Spinfisher V and am pleased with it. However, it appears to me Penn is trying to be all things to all people and has more models than Carter's has liver pills....
the new penn 706z will handle anything out there it was a big surf reel before they discontinued it but people liked it so much they brought it back.
