I use a #2 hook, 30# seven strand wire and a #10 or 35# swivel. I overused the # symbol there a bit. Let me clarify. In order there is, number, pound, number, pound. A confusing symbol nonetheless, but now it is even being called a hash-tag.
Eagle Claw makes a tiny black stainless steel "Powerlight" size 8 swivel that is 50lb test. #2 bronze 4x treble hook and 30lb seven strand Uncoated camo color wire for king leaders. These flippin saltwater fish have the eyes of a 5yr old Eastern Longbeard. Somewhere there is a post illustrating the simple figure 8 knot to tie hooks and swivels to make the leaders. I use 15lb wire and #4 hooks for Spanish leaders. Going into withdrawals to get to use them.
I use #2or#4 3X or4X strong treble hooks and 27pound uncoated sevenstrand and a 20-30lb spro powerswivels. They are really small for their respective weight class. Its killing me spring just needs to go ahead and get here. I've been tying pomp rigs for the last week and just pulling my reels out every other day. They may be cleaner than any other time ever.
i use 32 pound single strand wire do a haywire twist with a good swivel ( spros my favorite) 40 to 70 or whatever size swivel and a #2 mustad 3x hook works every time for me and i do the same leader for spanish just smaller hook and wives and wire
I used 27# Malin single strand, 50 or 80# black swivels and a 2x or 4x #2 or #4 treble.
Don't forget some 3" corks too. :)
Thxs Guys had a couple made up from last year but remember how many the boys went though. They had me and pier#er make up last year. Couldn't remember the numbers. Does it matter about the corks? We didn't use them last year.
Some people use floats to keep live baits near the top of the water column.
Peaches is the cork expert, I am sure he has some good recommendations about corks!
It takes a 3" styro float to keep a full sized LY on top.
Ask Peaches, he knows ;-) lol
