Surf fishing: guidance needed
We are on the gulf side of the Alabama's Coastal Connections (Al 180) off of Morgantown blvd. Fishing from the surf and we are not having much luck. Last year we were catching speckles, red fish, flounder, and ladyfish like crazy. We are using artificial lures penny colored, white, or yellow in minnow and shrimp designs. Any suggestions to help us catch some fish? Thanks for all your help and recommendations!

Welcome "FishHook85"
It sounds like last year you were on the fish and had a pattern that worked.
Go with the most obvious, that you may not be on the fish this year.
Ask yourself "What is different?"
Location? Time of year? Sandbar configuration? Weather? Water temp, salinity, clarity or calmness? Bait in the water? etc.
If you are not 'seeing' fish, try a different location.
Those species you mentioned catching last year are highly mobile along the beach when looking for food and shelter...
Hope this helps!
