    Surf Fishing Lures

What are the best most essential lures for surf fishing? I already have some spoons, looney jigs, and a mirrolure or two. Thanks

Spoons are good. If you don't mind catching Ladyfish (which are fun to catch) then they will hit about anything. Other things you could catch are bluefish, hard tails, possibly Spanish, pompano, ect. Speck rigs and pompano jigs work good, also gulp shrimp on a 1/4oz jig head. Hope that will help a little bit.
Go out fishing today, because you aren't promised you'll be able to fish tomorrow.

Paddle tail style swim baits. Gulps. The hot lure right now seems to be the Unfair rip n slash hard bait

For walking out in the surf thigh-high, I like casting a plain white with red thread Pompano jig with a small strip of pink 'shrimp' FishBite attached.
