I am heading down to the GS area Friday and i was wondering what the surf fishing has been like lately. How is the pompano bite from the beach this time of year? Im used to catching things like ladyfish and hardtails (which are usually thrown out as shark bait later:)) so I would like to switch it up this year. My family usually goes down every year for 2 weeks at a time and i've learned a lot in recent years but im always looking to learn more! Thanks guys! JD
Not sure about GS but there have been good catches of pompano in OBch this week, east of Perdido Pass...
I will be down there this weekend as well, look for the guy with a backpack with rod holders DIY'd into the side of it.
Are you guys expecting some tropical weather early next week?
Not 'expecting'...
but some of the computer forecast models are suggesting a 'home brew'.
Often these turn out to be nothing more than an upper air low that justs the chance of rain. (let's hope ;-)
