temp. that sheephead spawn

For what it worth, the water temp down here in South Padre Island, TX. is 65 and the sheeps are just starting to turn on, at times, if you can find any ghost shrimp or buy any live shrimp. Ghost shrimp are hard to come by and the dealers have trouble getting live shrimp. Of course I don't have any fidlers or sand fleas, any ideas?

I typed up a response suggesting to check out the NDBC station DPHA1 for DI, but it appears that DPHA1 has become the same as the NEP station. If I'm not mistaken there was was a separate station at the end of the Ft. Gaines pier, but I don't think it's active anymore...

Anywho, as far as sheepshead spawn temperature, I stay glued to the temp gauge this time of year, but in all honesty, I'm becoming more convinced that the spawn is a seasonal (i.e. photoperiod) thing. They consistently show up for me in the first two weeks of March.
