We arrived yesterday and I got to fish today. Didn't do anything this morning, but went back to the pier about 6:30 this afternoon. Got to hook up with a big red I assume and fought it for 20 minute or so before something cut my leader. There were several brought to the net at that same time.
Your tips on rigging and equipment are appreciated. I have been reading and studying your posts for some time now. I stopped by Bass Pro and picked up a Penn battle 4000 combo and am now tickled that I got it.
Also went by J& M this morning and got a few items and some bait.
Just wanted to say thanks for your forum and info for us noobs. I decided against bringing my kayak down. Just getting over a case of Rocky Mountain spotted fever and I didn't think I would feel good enough to handle and paddle it.Will try the lagoon and lakes another time.
