Thank you whoever you are. Your honesty and kindness made my week!
Just got back from a week at the pier. No....didn't catch much but an act of kindness/honesty really made my week.
I have a black bag that I carry a collapsable pier net, knife with sheath, and a pier gaff. Altogether worth about $150 or more if you were to buy them new. I always (?) keep them in my pier cart and very seldom get to use them. On Tuesday morning when I was loading my cart to go to the pier I noticed the bag was missing and realized I had left or lost it on the pier the previous day or possibly Sunday. I was sickened by it.....but not the first time for losing things since I am in my late 60's. As I was going by the check in window at the pier....I asked the clerk if they had a lost and found area....knowing it was wishful thinking. She asked what the bag looked like....and when I described it someone had turned it in. I thought UNBELIEVABLE! I'm guessing that it was a local who turned it in...but could have been anyone. WHOEVER..THANK YOU!
Just a quick comment on the sharks. I know most of you detest them and it's unlawful to fish for and land them on the pier. I've also had kings and other fish "sharked" and hate it. Many of us can only afford an annual trip to the pier and easily spend $2500+ on the condo stay, food, etc. I drive over 900 miles to get there as many others do as well. Sooooo forgive me if I love the zing of the reel and the fight that follows...when a shark eats my cig or hardtail....please?
