Trip fell through...
Well i woke up and got ready to go to the pier, but the little bit was feeling sick so we stayed home. I slipped up to my pond for about a half hour of catching then came back to clean a mess.
Also my wife bought me a new Penn for my bday. It's a Spinfisher 8500LL, I know its a bit oversized, but are they pretty good reels? and what type rod should i put it on?
-
You caught all those bream on a 8500!? ;)
Kidding, those are still one of my favorite fish to catch.
-
Nice catch Mr. C! It's great to have a dependable go-to spot!
-
Scales, gut, flour and fry!
id take the reel to J&M and have them set it up with a rod for bull reds, jacks and cobia.

Had a family fish fry Sunday with the whiting I caught a couple a weeks ago and they were really good. My favorite fish to eat from here in Indiana is a toss up between bluegill and crappie. That's a cooler full of fine eating and they are fun to catch. Some people get above fishing for pan fish.....I don't see that ever happening to me.
-
I'm from north ms and agree on the blue gill and crappie!! Both are really fun to catch also.
-
Crappie are my favorite freshwater fish to eat. It's about that time to start fishing for those too. I have connections to fish a gravel pit around where I live, all those ledges and debris make it perfect. So many species, so little time.

Snake, my family has a lot on lake Weiss.. There are some serious crappie to be caught there.
Locally though we are on the pearl river in columbia ms, and you can FILL a 50qt ice chest with crappie from the dead lakes when the river is up.(if you ever get ready to fish your welcome to come up and fish with me lol)
