10 is the daily limit.
I looked into the reg's....thanks for the replies....looks like I will be gigging along the beach if I can stay awake long enough after fishing 12hrs. during the day :bang
a good mess of flounder would be nice to gig http://www.gulfcoastfishingconnectio...c/thumbsup.gif http://www.gulfcoastfishingconnectio...sc/letseat.gif
the light and battery is on the way....just made the gig this morning mounted on a telescopic pole
sister/brother in-law(nephew) will be down for a week I guess....so maybe I need to get a sand flea rake made too....put the bride to work catching some bait http://www.gulfcoastfishingconnectio...isc/giggle.gif or nephew....the heck with those sea shells she looks for, and does nothing with....catch bait
Talked to one of the outstanding young men working at J&M last week. He told me of a guy who gigged a limit in about a 1 mile walk in the surf. Never done it myself, but looks like it's very do able!!!
I have a hard tme with any night time actvities while at GS . Fishing all day just drains me , especially if I'm up before dawn .
A friend has been doing very well over on Pensacola beach and in the bay when to windy ....almost limits or limits each trip....He is a seasoned veteran but I always like something new and looks like fun....and some good eats too
stuffed fresh flounder
a few of his recent pic's
.
still waiting on the gig light and battery....but I'll be ready to at least try....with the beach at the front door and a little effort(staying awake) I'll try for some flat fish, and maybe a blue crab or 2 .
light just got here, along with days of stress....it got lost in the mail and took the scenic route here....at least it got here and the battery too....so I am ready for the gigging along the beach....perviding I can stay away after dark thirty ....when my body says get horizontal...... I have had enough today

all I know is October is a good month....and the spring too
it's a first for me..... so I don't expect to much....unless I could tag along with a local....and learn the tricks. maybe Cliff will invite me to get into some of his recent limits over in Pensacola ....but I'll try out in front of the condo and down the beach....if nothing else, should see some good marine life and get some exercise that is needed
only got out once while there....I did hear of good reports on the beach, but not by me.....never saw the first one, till nature called and I had to go....
I did think of another use for the gigging light and battery....a after dark recovery light for deer hunting....a lot of times my kills or hits are right before dark, that I really hate hunting that time due to recovery issues and the dark in the woods....and flash lights just don't really do it in my woods....I know them well, but after dark it is way different....but that light I think will make things after dark a whole lot easier if needed and even once found to take care of the gutting with plenty of good light up in the woods
coleman lantern shows blood best,if u don't have a trained recovery dog,,jmho,,chuckster
