I am planning a trip to Gulf Shores this Spring. What water temp is good at the State Pier that would indicate that good fishing has returned? I am new to Saltwater Pier fishing.

personally, I would say 62.5 deg F
Last year the first kings came at about 68 degrees.That was at the 42012 bouy.

I hope to be down on 3/8/14. At what temp do the Sheepshead start stacking on the pier? Any chance they will be around in numbers in a couple of weeks?

They should have been there already.You can check gulf temps. at Coastal Water Temperature Guide.Or Bouy 42012 Forecast on right side of screen.
