9/29/12 kayaks
me and ol' Peaches decided to give the kayaks a try this past Saturday. We headed off the beach and some of you may have seen the two yellow kayaks floating around out from the pier. We ended up with 6 kings a piece and probably 8 or so good sized Spanish. All in all, a great day for fishing!

[font=comic sans ms][size=12pt]I received a message asking about the limit being exceeded on the Kings and this has been questioned in other reports in the past.
When the regs report a King catch that is greater that the two fish limit, it includes fish that were popped off at the pilings, or in this case at the boat. We consider a King popped off intentionally, a caught fish that is released while still in the water.

Yes sir! Nothing wrong with catch and release. The take and the fight are the best part of it anyway.

This Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for an abundant fishery and a magnificent pier, from which to access that fishery. I'm thankful for the morning view of the sunrise and what a spectacular view it is...
Happy Thanksgiving!
