Cheap, disposable multi-tool with braid scissors.
Yup get a pair of scissors, (craft dept at Wally World cheap) I have a Leatherman Wave and Buck Multitool , stay away from those China made fakes, it's tempting because of the price, but I've found there are some things to save $ on, tools aren't one of them. Buy Good Stuff Once.
thanks jollymon. been down the cheap road more than once, does your buck have a clip on sheath or beltloop? i think i would prefer clip. thanks again
I had a kydex sheath made at a Gunshow that has a loop that I can slip on and off but holds well.and was only 15.00 and it will stay in upside-down too.
Wish I still had it, gave it to my son
IMO, you can't beat Victorinox...have had one since my military days. I imagine they have a model that fits your needs...pricey now, but worth it.
Good Tool's are worth spending Good $$. $$ on. Buy once, cry once
I have these. They work really well. I'm going to buy a second pair to keep in my kayak so I don't have to remember them!

Jollymon, I do kydex for my knives. What tool?
I had one made for both of mine, The Buck 320 BUCKTOOL don't know if they still make it anymore, the other is the Leatherman Wave.
I carry two things now for cutting braid , a sm. pr. of scissors from Walmart craft dept. and Burkley Hot Line Cutter I find myself using it more now because not only will it cut in melts the end so no frayed end , I know it doesn't matter but it looks better.
For a good set of pliers check out The Bubba Blade Pliers, has nonslip grip, cutters, and it crimps , hate the sheath I'd like to get kydex.
Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread
I may buy one and make a run of mixed for em.
I got a pair of Calcutta braid scissors ($5) at J&M and put them on a retractable badge holder that clips to my belt loop. Scissors are always right there when I want them. Been carrying them this way for years and haven't hurt myself with them yet.
One of my best tools. Made in USA. Can be had for less than $40 (paid $25 when on sale). Has a great scissor although it's hard for braid less than 30lb test. But the scissor is on the outside and you can use it very easily, along with the knife. The plier can be used to remove the hooks.
Gerber 400 and 600 sport (?). I have 3 400's and one modded 600. The 600 didn't come standard with the scissors, had to fix that.
