What's the deal with fish bites?

Okay so I've heard people recommend them, particularly pink. I made the mistake last year of picking up the only package they had at Wally World when I first arrived. My luck they were fully stocked the next day. I used them and absolutely no bites on them versus the frozen shrimp, frozen sand fleas (how do you keep them on the hook) and numerous artificial lures I used. Somebody give me the low down on how you use them, by themselves or in combination with bait, and why the pink ones are recommended over the others, though I assume it is related to flavor.

I thought I typed it earlier but the package I used was white, oyster flavor I think.

IMHO the color is attractive to pompano along with the scent. I use a double drop rig with fresh dead shrimp and orange fishbites on one hook and shrimp with pink fishbites on the other. I have even tipped a pompano jig with a different color fishbites and caught pompano but I have NEVER caught a pompano on fishbites alone. If there is a way to hook a frozen sandflea and cast it out without it coming off the hook I'm not privy to it. You would be much better off gathering your own sandfleas or better yet ghost shrimp for pompano.

Caught the heck out of spadefish on both pink and white. Whiting in the surf as well.

I started hearing about the fishbites last summer, so I tried them. They are GREAT, the freshwater versions are just as good too.

Can't I imagine surf fishing without having Fish Bites with us. And, we have used broken, wore out 3" Gulp shrimp pieces for whiting. I'm not saying I'm cheap, but hey, why not? When it works, it works. When it don't work, go get live shrimp.

I carry Fishbites in my tackle box for supplementing bait on a hook, tipping a jig if fresh strips aren't available and for tipping a sabiki for bait.
They're a proven tool in the tackle box.

Folks mostly use the flavors of shrimp, no matter the color. I haven't heard many success stories about other flavors.

Whiting on pink for me last August. I fished them alone, on jigs and with frozen bait.

I've tried different methods with fish bites. I've also used fresh dead pieces by themselves. I always catch something, but the way it produces the best for me is to use a small cut piece of pink shrimp flavored fishbite with a small piece of fresh dead shrimp. Other colors and favors will produce some action for me, but not like the pink shrimp flavored and not without the shrimp. I think the bright color helps as an attractant while the shrimp nails it. The combo works.
