Those cooling towels are not that new , I started using them about 8 years ago when a good friend gave me his extra on a Dove hunt.
I recall someone said his "Weather App" had it at 108 degrees that day, That towel was a Blessing, Need to take care not to let it get to fishy smelling. Definitely worth having one or two. The hat and sunglasses are a must have to.

good info. A drink cooler will be on my cart full of Gatorade and waters and every time I got out on the water got a floppy hat and shades on and I always wear a long sleeve ,what I call fishing shirts. And I will throw my electric fillet knife along with a couple of "hand powered" fillet knifes and some bags in my backpack also. And Dan I will definitely get up with ya a week or so before I come down. I'll by lunch or bring ya some freshly canned peppers or something to half way repay ya. I fish all the time so I should catch on quickly. Just a different ball game. Just need a little guidance and direction.

Yessir. I've seen him catch more than two fish on several occasions.

Good deal. But I would also like me several of y'all that are regulars at the pier. Sit and swap some fish stories. My granddaddy always told me, whether your tearing the fish up or just drowning bait, ALWAYS be able to sit and tell a fish story.

How many gotcha plugs is sufficient for a week at the pier. A dozen? Or more? Trying to get it in my head what I need. And gotchas come up quit often in fishing reports so I'm gonna start with them

I wouldn't buy for the whole week to begin with. I might get a half-dozen to begin with because there are times when spanish are hitting one color better (i.e. chrome with a red head)-- or there are times when they're hitting something else a lot better. When I was using gotchas as my go-to spanish lure, I'd have about 4-6 in my box on any given morning.

My advice for using gotchas has to do with safety. You can't assume that anyone else is paying attention to you and kids will run right behind you when you're making a cast. I've never hooked anyone but I've seen people get quite careless.

The action that I try to impart to the gotcha looks a bit like "walking the dog" with a Zara Spook. They're real bad to foul (catching the line with the treble hooks), so be prepared for that.

I've found that if you have a good setup (rod, reel,line) you can get a good cast underhand so you don't have to worry about who's behind you. That's my go to for Spanish, Just flip it out, let settle a bit and work it back.
