Zander Greene - Future Angler
A friend of ours, John Greene, brought his son Zander to the pier to catch his first fish the other night.
We put a Pier Pest special in his hands, and just moments after the bait hit the water, a large cownose ray took the bait for a ride, and young 8 yr old Zander spent the following 1.5 hours handling the large fish.

His ray was too large to land in a net, so we popped it off at the pylons, but young Zander won the battle.
Thus far, his conversations have included the monster catch--which seems to get bigger by the day.
Not bad for a first fish for an 8 year old. He fought dilgently and wouldn't give up.
Hopefully another young hopeful has risen from the shadows and will join us on the rock in time to come.
Great job, Zander Greene! :headbang: :headbang:

Is that a Penn fierce? If so what rod. My dad rarely gets to surf fish with me, but I am going to buy him a little mid grade rig.
