Lol ,came out 1 morning to mow and walked the yard to make sure nothing would get mowed that wasn't supposed to, 2 turtles were humping and when I walked up 1 slid off and they both run away didn't know they could run that fast lol

Honestly, I am not sure Tom. But your speculation has merit as recent rains would have brought an influx of nutrients into eastern LL and a subsequent increase in macroscopic life feeding on that...
Rain/Red minnows shortage this...
