Thanks man
Thanks for the rod and reel. I can now say that I know how to break down and reassemble a mitchell 302. Got her all cleaned up and freshly lubed last night. Got a manual kit and drag washers being shipped right now and meeting a guy next week to get a crosswind cam. She will soon be ready to catch some king and hopefully mahi.
you could have just bought mine!! with all the goodies....but then, you wouldn't know the...... how too....they have a tendency for the line to get under the spool(at least mine did) and Obie said it was a common thing....I used the 306 a lot, but not the 302 and went with the 706 greenie still really not confident with the manual thing, I sure wouldn't use it if I was there looking for ling....most likely the penn 8500ss or Cabo 70.... I can work a bail good enough
Well Randy, as of now she is all done. Got the manual kit and drag washers installed last week. Met up with a guy in Navarre that specializes in Mitchells and got a crosswind cam. After tamping it out I got got it installed and put back together. She is now ready to catch king, mahi, and sailfish(shoot, maybe even cobia). Later in the year I am getting back up with the guy to buy a power handle. Has been a nice little project while the fishing is slow.
Glad you got it done i think i have another set of drag washers if you need them let me know
Nah, I am good. Thanks though.
