Y'all want to book this place for October or November if you can! The redfish/speckled trout/flounder fishing under the lights at the Surf and Racquet Club is legendary! It's convenient to the Gulf Shores pier and the fall is a great time to fish for whiting and croakers in the Gulf during the day. It's just like Dan said, with cleaning stations there on the pier - It's a perfect set up.

I stayed there in June and we loved it. Very nice place with 24hr security guard. Lighted docks=good fishing.

Just when ya'll didn't think this could get any better it does Remember I live there and fish the Pier the Surf West Beach Pass or Little Lagoon almost everyday If the fish are around I'll know where they are I also have every rod & reel combo that could be needed here as well as any rig or bait a fish could want and can show you what you need for any time of the year or any fish you want to target I fish almost every day and would be happy to have you join me I also have a brand new Bentley Pontoon boat in the water at the condo and could be talked into taking you out on it Like I said the location is a Fisherman's Dream I'm attaching some pictures of some Flounder and Speckled Trout caught here last Fall as well as the boat

Heck Dan,if I were you,I'd think about spending a grand on a 14' jon-boat with a 10hp tiller handle if your insurance company would allow it. That would set you away from the rest of the renters in your area. I lived on the Lagoon from 1972 till Hurricane Freddy stole our home in 1979. I had a 14' Sears Game Fisher with a 7.5hp Murcury,300' gill net, flounder equipment and a 12' shrimp net. My older brother and I terrorized from the pass to the west end back then.

That might make me want to bring my 14ft fishing boat....bay fishing and floundering at night if I could stay awake:D

Ill be at the surf and raquet club in 9 more days. You gonna be around, would love a few pointers for fishing the lagoon. Have stayed there the past 2 years and caught a few fish in the lagoon but nothing to brag about.

Yes I'll be here Been a little rough to fish the past few days with the strong north wind we've been having but you can fish the beach when that blows I was catching a lot of fish off the Pier before this wind Hope to continue that when it dies down Will be happy to help There are a lot of options

I have stayed there many times in past years and done pretty well with fishing right there in the Lagoon. After the grandkids got older they wanted a beach side place so I gave in but now they are gone to college so I may resume staying there some.

My bride likes the beach front....for me all I need is fishing, drive to the pier anyway....and don't care for the sand to beach fish.....dock fishing sounds good to me for a 2nd option from the pier.....I'll have to work on the bride for our next trip.....since this fall isn't happening maybe a spring trip with the grandaughter during spring break......even if it's just her and I?

I'll get there a day before and get some of those specs away from the dock for you.

If you find yourself unable to sleep, 2 a.m. produces some great specs and redfish around lighted docks!

I wore out the barely legal reds and specs at GSSR back in late June under the lights. Hope they will be bigger with cooler water this time.

Dan are you still renting this? I have a buddy looking for a place in June.
