Thread: Deal on Academy pier net

Not sure if this is the most appropriate place to post this, but I wanted to share this. I picked up a "heavy duty, two-ring crab net" at Academy in Huntsville, AL last weekend for $7.48 on closeout. It is a little small at 32" in diameter and about 18" deep, but I think it might make a decent pier net, especially if re-enforced in the right places. The top and bottom hoops are 3/8" painted steel with welded rope attachment points on the top hoop and a steel grate bottom (no additional weight required). While it's not the same size or quality as the dipped stainless steel net from Brunson's, for the price, it is hard to beat.
