Looking for good used king rod
Hey guys, my brother is looking to get a used custom rod to join us on the rail this year. He can't afford much, something at or below $100 in good condition for him to start on. Fast action and prefer an 8 ft. Let me know if you can help gentlemen and see ya on the rail.
Re: Looking for good used king rod
If you go just a little bit above that myself or John could build you a basic 8ft black rack custom rod.
Re: Looking for good used king rod
Basic king rods are $145,we have around 50 left.

Re: Looking for good used king rod
rocks reef has some good rods and you pay like $75 for one. just watch for air bubbles in the epoxy.

Air bubbles large enough to affect the performance of a rod would be the sign of crappy assembly and someone worried about quantity and not quality.

that's where I got 2 of mine that I use....on our way out of town one year.....they are sporadic on times open as I recall....then picked up a couple a few years later, 1 from Obie....very nice.....the other from Pensacola pier regular
Re: Looking for good used king rod
even like medium size air bubbles. overtime the epoxy will crack and you will have to repair it.

that reel looks broken.....something funny about it....just doesn't look right to me....maybe the handle??
Re: Looking for good used king rod
Looks just fine to me ! Seems as though it would be pretty useless any other way . If my memory has not failed me :"If you attach it to your rod and turn the rod around it will work just fine for a righthanded person . "

I saw a Yankee on a fishing show this morning using a right handed baitcaster holding it upside down and reeling backwards with his left hand.

Why don't you give him one of yours? Don't you have like 5 custom rods and 5 staals?
Re: Looking for good used king rod
He rich but cheap like a true Asian. I was raised here so I like more premium gear. Anyways we found him two nice rods off the p.cola forum they were a steal. Thanks for all th replies guys. BTW if y'all meet an Asian guy name Steven on the rail this year I'll be glad to translate for you.
And Sam... Trade ya your choice of staal out of my collection for the Accurate you just got.
