Just stick it inside a piece of PVC pipe and pack it with wadding. Duct tape over some plastic or cardboard on the ends. I’ve gotten a lot of rods that way,…easy peasey. Good luck with it.

Just do not ship by UPS. Way too costly. They wanted over $50 to ship the Penn Slammer. Remember that one Steve.

Have you bought PVC pipe lately? I use heavy cardboard tubes, but, you have to order a bunch of them. Right now, I don’t know a good option for shipping rods. The tubes MudHole ships my rod blanks to me in aren’t big around enough once the rod has guides on them.

The center tube of carpet rolls are sturdy enough and often dumpster food. There is a lighter grade of plastic tubing, used for in-wall vacuum cleaning systems, to hold down weight. The triangle boxes from FedEx are not enough(I received a nice 2-piece 10' literally folded in half into a 4-piece).

Insurance is worth considering but for a custom rod proving value requires documentation because they can"t tell a CTS or Century blank with titanium Fuji hardware from an Ugli-Stick.
