It is good size.....was reel stiff (greese hardened) opened side plate used some penn oil here and there .....loosed right up.....a proper cleaning and relube would be in order.....not sure if there is one bigger? .....super clean for a collector that I am not

Honestly, I am not sure Tom. But your speculation has merit as recent rains would have brought an influx of nutrients into eastern LL and a subsequent increase in macroscopic life feeding on that...
Rain/Red minnows shortage this...
