Penn 650ss
SOLD....Found a Penn 650ss at a yard sale in Wisconsin. Don't think it's ever seen salt water as it looks and works like new. If anyone's interested, I'll be back home the middle of next month. Let me know what y'all think it's worth and if your interested and I'll bring it back.

Sir , bring it back with you I'll be glad to have it if none of the regular suspects on this forum want it.
I'm looking for a good King reel.If you are going to fight, fight like you are the third monkey on the ramp to Noah's ark and brother, it's starting to rain!

I'll bring it. Hate to part with it though since it is in like new condition. Not even any marks on reel foot. I'll be in touch. This is the older style made of metal in the USA.

It's a nice reel but don't really know the value. PM me with your offer. Thanks.

Best deal I could find for a new one was $75.00 US, including shipping, from Australia. You sure see a lot of them on the pier.

650ss
MikeB...I can't find new ones at that price. This is an old reel w/all metal body made in USA that hasn't been made for 20 years. Penn replaced it with the more cheaply made 6500ss. I'd say if you can find a NOS for the price you quote, get it!

FWIW, all versions of the SS reels were/are made of metal in the 650/6500 size reel. The 650SS and 6500SS were made in the USA. The three major differences between them are the main gear material, roller bushing (650SS) as opposed to roller bearing (6500SS) and the handle pivot screw needs to be switched on the 650SS when changing it from left to right, the 6500SS has a dual threaded pivot that screws in either side. With the anti-reverse engaged there isn't any downside to the 6500SS's lesser gear material, if it is fished the way a spinning reel should be.

This Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for an abundant fishery and a magnificent pier, from which to access that fishery. I'm thankful for the morning view of the sunrise and what a spectacular view it is...
Happy Thanksgiving!
