If you are going to fight, fight like you are the third monkey on the ramp to Noah's ark and brother, it's starting to rain!

You'll bounce back quick Ironman. This getting older crap is for the birds. Recovery is a little slower, but we're not 20 anymore. Good luck Bill...

I hope to bring a couple - few in October , but you never know.....hate to come without , just in case there is a need for some.....spring was a spur of the moment build....I may have more time (unless complications with the hernia surgery)???
Messing around with them yesterday, may start grinding the points on a few today
Thanks for your interest
Also need to wrap & finish at least one rod to try this trip, being I missed out on the power wrapper in the spring(screwed), going to put something together to hand wrap....I have a few stripped and ready, but this last one acquired, I would like to fish this trip, might even get that Harnell wrapped to bring, but that's more of a cobia rod for spring time
I hope, I remember how too anyway
Need to rewrap the Fenwicks I have, but that is more cosmetic, I like the one I fished last fall for the slot reds....cranked those right up....think a good king Rod now ??
I did, the one David lea is using
If you hold down on his picture it takes you to that site

I've held off on buying a gaff and have gotten by with my net on my few annual trips. I have to admit that there have been a few times when a gaff would've been handy- except for the fact that I have zero experience using one. Also-the net takes up a lot of space in the car, while the gaff could just ride in the trunk and not take up space in the back seat. I really don't know what to look for in a gaff, but if it handled reds and kings it would be plenty for me.

So when is your annual trip? Plenty of my gaffs on the pier to get a feel for one, but you really need both, & net the most, reds I use a net & even for Jacks if going to release, usually can find someone that wants the kings, some trips I don't even use my gaff....plenty out there wanting to help
I got my first on Okaloosa pier, when having trouble finding help with a gaff(unlike Gulf shores)....always a tourist sight see'er willing to help if asked..... then learning about stainless I made my crude own (at first)
Now make them like GS pier fishers want them
Thought of making a few like I did before the design change prongs, pipe & rope eye shorter style
