Does anyone use wire leaders to make bubble rigs or are bubble rigs pretty much limited to mono and fluoro leaders?

Wire is not really needed and you will get less hits. Plus it kinks up real bad just about every time you catch a fish.
I use 29 lb. solid wire for the last 6". Tie the wire to mono with an albright knot. I then attach a Norman Speed Clip or a snap to the end of the wire with a haywire twist so the hook can be removed in order to replace the straw without having to retie. There's a post with a picture of it somewhere, but I couldn't find it.
I used 30lb.7 Strand for years and used the crimp on ferrules with the 30lb. small Spro swivel at the bubble end. I put a snap swivel on the bubble or popping cork that way I could just slip one color straw off and put another color on. That was before the sharks got bad. Then I just went to 60lb. mono so the shark could bite through when he got my Spanish.
Going to try it with short 6in or less piece of 7 strand like the 2 fisher's above....more for action of the jig used, plus ease of changing colors
