What size thread is usually used to tie them? The stuff a guy said would work is for tying flys and it's way to thin for what I need. Any suggestions or advice?

- Commercial Size: 69 (210D/3)
- Goverment Size EI
believe this is similar to what I use ....I did buy a full spool and put it on the smaller spools for tying....much cheaper that way, and only got white.....jigslinger suggested using a sharpie to change the color on the surface thread after tied ....but white has been good enough

Thanks that's a lot of help I've looked everywhere
I got my big roll on ebay....as stated I made a jig to use for my drill to wind the smaller spools for the tying, but that is the size and very stong for the size it is....once in awhile I will break it, usually the steep angle on the bobbin not paying attention to the angle....you want it tight
Thanks a lot. I'm just playing around w it right now I'm probably going to build a hydro dip for jig heads to or and aerator for powder coating. But I can't find anyone down here who sells powder coat
again ebay is where I get my powder paint and have found some good deals on there ....I hear harbor freights is as good as pro tec powder, but have never tried it.
Where do y'all get your dressings(buck tails, feathers, or whatever you use), eBay too? I'm interested in getting into this.
they sell by the oz....and a little goes a long way....I am not sure if I will ever use what I have ....all crimped hair that I actually like the best, verses straight(non-crimped)
Nylon Hair
How do you feel about toaster oven powder coating.? It seems a cheap alternative to a designated oven. Looking on a powder coating for beginners website it looks like a good way to get started.
thrift shop and that is all I use(toaster oven) except when I do a gaff....then it is the big oven....but get a big one with at least 2 adjustable spots for the tray, to hang them on ....might even take a jig with you to make sure it is tall enough inside
