Its over a quarter of a mile from the parking lot to the octi. The front wheel lets you just pull all the weight instead of lift it and pull it. Its a necessity for high mileage knees and hip joints.

I extended the handle a few inches and mount it to the rear of the cart; pushing is easier to me than pulling. Front wheel is a necessity.

Hey back when this new pier first opened my cart was an old grocery store buggy from the old Al 5&10 store that was thrown out it was big enough to hold 2 rods a small cooler and a small tackle box. Probably the most ghetto rig a 15 year old could use. I think I got a year out of it and one of the wheels went bad on it. Sure makes you appriciate how nice a legit pier cart was after that transition lolQuote:

Actually, the wheelchair chassis is smart---one of the easiest rolling contraptions around, but might be a challenge to customize to live well, cooler, tackle box, hammock attachment and rod holsters. You could keep the handicap sticker that came with it and put a small awning over it. I saw the one that the old fart you're talking about had, but he had no imagination for the infinite possibilities available. ---Not even a decent sound system or fish spotting tower.

He was having to drag a big tool box around to wherever he was working inside the store, and decided to fix that. He took the basket off the cart and secured a wood base there in place of it. I'm hoping to fix it up some more for this year with a little bit bigger wheels, as it has plastic wheels and they are pretty rough to roll around on the pier with all the stuff we put on it.
shoot down at okaloosa pier theres an older man that has a cart type rig attached to his electric wheelchair. im starting to think about getting a rig like that myself
