Input on finishing my cobia rod

I'm almost done with my seeker ps85. I had the blank in the garage for awhile and had some extra components laying around and figured I'd put it together for my trip in April. I thought the grey/black foregrip would give it a different look but I'm starting to think its just a little to much.

What do you guys think? I can put a piece of black X flock over it. Just not sure.

Looks good to me, but hard to say what the Cobia are going to think! :cool:

My seeker rod wore me out throwing at all the jacks that came through my last day, last fall....I guess an occasional throw at cobia would be OK .....now I know why the young man sold it a few years ago

Bill its definitely not light. Hopefully I get to throw a jig a few times.

I'd leave it alone. The more you sit there and tinker with it the more stuff you will see you want to change. Fish it and kill something with it. As for a ps85, I have built a few and love them. Mine has killed fish all the way up to 73 lbs. it might be a bit heavy but I can flip an eel with it as well as a jig.

Jeb, you think I could cast a crab or eel far enough from the pier with 25lbs mono? I bought a few 3oz custom jigs but I love live bait

Not with it being a fair chase pier. It's better to use it in that manner from the tower of a boat.
