Thread: dacron backing question

I have a couple 706s with black spools. I've heard I should run a Dacron backing on them to prevent the spool from cracking under stress. Is there a brand of Dacron line that is better than others? And how much backing should I use? Thanks for the help.

dacron is just braid back with some powerpro 20 or 30 pound
