Thread: line preference?

I have tried about every kind of line there is and I was wondering what all of my fellow fishermen use and recommend. I normally use 15 to 20 lb offshore angler mono.

I have mostly used Strem and Yozuri. These days I'm leaning to Momoi.

I use 10 lb mono for most everything Spanish Blues with gotchas bubbles etc Use it with carolina rig for whiting flounder etc Best all pupose pound test I've found for the Gulf Coast I normally use the BassPro brand Have for many years Never had a problem with it and you can get 1200-1500 yds for $10 For kings I use a great 16Lb mono I get from J&M Have had great success with it and it's probaly more like 30 lb test Don't like braid that much but since there are so many sharks when fishing off the pier I have started using a 15 LB braid for better casting and more strength or pound test to help horse the fish in away from the sharks and this has been working pretty well

When i fly fish in the gulf for spanish and bonito i usually use like 8-10 pound test fluorocarbon. Spinfishing for kings I usually have either 18 pound mono by Suffix/Stren or 25-30 pound braid by PowerPro. SpinFishing for spanish/bonito/bluefish i use 12 pound test mono with a leader.
