    Pier Cart Repair?????

While fishing this evening on the pier the crazy wheel on the front of my pier cart broke off. The pivoting shafts is threaded and it threads up inside of the removable aluminum tube. The threaded shafts broke right in half up inside of the tube. So anyway, anyone have any neat DIY suggestions for a front wheel????

Quick fix.....J&M sells replacements.....there are a few out there (pier carts) that has a custom fitted front wheel

My wheel never touches the ground unless on the good smooth concrete......it is always lifted to get to good concrete......worked so far since I replaced the original wheel that had issues due to bad ground surfaces

Harbor Freight has some large casters that would work fine mounted under the frame of the cart. You would just need to buy the hardware to mount it.

I used a piece of 3/4" aluminum square stock drilled and taped to use a harbor freight 4" caster ( I think that's right) drilled the mounting hole to the cart. When replace the wheel as needed

I did pretty much the same thing coach did---Harbor Freight caster and backyard mounting system. They have 10" pneumatic tires that give a real smooth ride, but jack the front end up a bit. I'm trying a solid wheel caster this time. The casters don't stand up real well to the salt, but are inexpensive and not hard to replace.

I bought a caster and couple of U-bolts at Lowes; good to go.

Bent the axle on mine one time and had to disassemble and straighten on the vice on back of my service truck.

Load most of your weight towards the rear of the cart and you will find that it pulls a lot easier on just the two large wheels, rendering the caster only useful when parking your cart.

Found some hospital caster wheels that fit perfect.....had to buy a set of 4.....2 locking, 2 without, solid rubber & smooth .....I believe I will mount front and back, sometime using my cooler as a seat it will tip to the back if I shift slightly, plus adding the gorrila 3 rod holders back there adding more weight behind the main axle

Just got8 replacement solid caster wheels.....that almost fit perfect....need to use the male stand piece from the back as a shim....was adding 1 to the back anyway, unless I can find some tube aluminum to fit...but once I put the rear swivel tire on ,it won't be needed snyway
